HOW CAN GOODWELL SUPPORT HUMANKIND?

Goodwell units are driven by solar energy, and in many of the exposed areas where water scarcity is greatest the supply of sun is very good. One Goodwell can supply up to 2000 people with 3 litres of clean water per day, driven entirely by natural solar energy.

Goodwell is installed a few metres from the ordinary water source, and via the ground bed a first treatment of the water is made. When the flow then reaches Goodwell, the unit filters out remaining particles and disinfects the water so that the end product becomes clean drinking water.

Goodwell's unique so-called backflush function cleans the filters continuously and means they do not risk clogging during the process.

Fresh, flowing water

Fresh water - a prerequisite for life

Global need

Fresh water - an essential condition for life.

One of the most important conditions for all life on earth is clean water. About a quarter of the world's population lacks access to clean water and is forced to use water of uncontrolled quality. People draw their water from watercourses and, because of this, contract various infections of the stomach and intestines when the water is unfit.

people die each day – of our time's greatest global health problem

The infections are caused by viruses, bacteria or microorganisms and appear as severe diarrhoea, leading to dehydration due to heavy losses of fluid and salt for the body. Statistics from UNICEF, Water Aid and SIDA show that about 4000 people die every day because they lack access to clean water - which makes this one of our time's greatest global health problems.
